Visit the Ardenne Abbey
On June 7th & 8th, 1944, just days after the D-Day landings in Normandy, at least 20 Canadian soldiers were held as prisoners of war at this very site. These men were soon executed by the order of the commander of the 12th SS Division, just hours before the Abbey was liberated by fellow allies. Today, a plaque stands in commemoration of our fallen soldiers on the site where they were killed.
