The North Shore and the Second World War 120 History Course
Intention of the Course:
Students will be given an in-depth experience of the exploits of the North Shore Regiment during the Second World War. Pre and Post war topics as they relate to the Regiment and the North Shore region will be analyzed as well. The course will give students experience in working with primary documents and developing their skills as historians by allowing them firsthand opportunities to conduct research, historical investigations, and international collaborative work. Students will learn the benefits of these skillsets and their contributions to our community’s legacy, but also to themselves as lifelong learning adults. This course is also complementary to a travel for credit option that will allow students to choose a learning path that they accomplished through experiential learning opportunities overseas.
This course will be offered in the winter term of 2024 (February - June) to all students in high schools within ASD-N.
